   You know me, I see Pintip's name on a book, I have to read it. Easy as that. And once more I wasn't disappointed! Perhaps this wasn't my fave--admittedly it's very hard to beat her Forget Tomorrow Trilogy--but it was still really, really good.

   Pintip Dunn has a knack for dystopian worlds, as well as a way with words that simply grabs and pulls you in and won't let you go until the end. Alice was an interesting main character (we also happen to share a name which made it extra funny at times) and I really enjoyed reading her thoughts and seeing her emotions evolve and change, the way she handled certain situations and events.

   The basic idea of a deadly virus threatening to eradicate most of the population isn't anything new, and yet Pintip found a way to make it different and fresh in her own style. This idea of basically having to make certain choices and sacrifices which ideally you wouldn't want to make yet it's either that or the end of the world, it was very interesting and makes you wonder what you'd do in her place. The suspense and mystery were really well done overall and there was only a bit of romance.

   Overall I would certainly recommend Malice if you're looking for a suspenseful and thrilling read with a great main character and premise. And also if you're looking for this type of read that's a standalone instead of part of a trilogy or series.

I give Malice by Pintip Dunn 4 out of 5 stars.

Blog Tour: Review - Seize Today by Pintip Dunn

   Here we are for the grand finale of the Forget Tomorrow trilogy with my review for Seize Today. When I saw that there is a blog tour for it, I knew i had to be part of it, as well as get my hands on an ARC, the later coming before the former surprisingly. I've loved this trilogy to pieces so let's find out if Seize Today lived up to my expectations, shall we?

   The Forget Tomorrow trilogy is, without a doubt, one of my favorite trilogies I've ever read. I've loved the previous two books in this trilogy, as well as the prequel, so I had impossibly high hopes and expectations for this finale. Of course, since Pintip is a brilliant author, she mangled to exceed my hopes and expectations by a tenfold with ease. Seize Today ties up all the questions that were left open, all the little plot points and facets that needed more explaining or revealing, and gave us even more intriguing visuals, more future tech, and more awesome science than the precious two books.

   Our lead in this one is Olivia Dresden, the Chairwoman's daughter, and she was an amazing POV character. Seeing the world through her eyes was fascinating, even more so because of her ability to see every single possible future path a person can go down depending on the choices they make, the good and the bad ones. The way Pintip described the visuals of Olivia looking through those paths was done incredibly well and definitely added that extra something to her narrative. Just like everyone else in this world Olivia isn't perfect so she makes mistakes, has flaws and all, but the character development she goes through across these twenty days that the book spans is amazing and incredible.

   Ryder, the love interest in this one, also has a special place in my heart. He was tough and had major trust issues, but in the end he was an amazing character and I would've loved to read more about him, and those two together. I also loved the glimpses we got into the lives of the other two couples from book one and two, where they are now and what the future holds for them.

   I still smile every time I think about the epilogue.

   Trilogies sometimes have the tendency to disappoint you with an ending that still leaves questions open, or somehow answers them in a non-satisfactory manner, but that definitely wasn't the case with Seize Today. It was a worthy part of this trilogy and even more of a worthy ending to it. Sure I wished it would've been longer so I could stay in this world just for a few more pages, enjoy Pintip's writing longer (I should mention that I devoured the entire book in under 4 hours because I simply couldn't stop reading once I started), but I am very happy nonetheless with every aspect of the story.

   All in all I can only say that I am very happy that I got the chance to read this trilogy, to receive an ARC of Seize Today, and I will literally recommend this book, and the trilogy, to everyone ever because it is amazing. Then again I will literally read anything Pintip writes so theres that.

   "Are you sifting through my possible pathways?" he asks, his voice husky.

   I freeze. But if I'm a block of ice, his fingers do their job, tracing my lips again and again until I melt. "How…how do you know?"

   "Your eyes," he says. "They dilate when you're reaching into the future. I'm starting to learn when you're not here."

   I blink. Nobody's ever told me that before.

   "You…noticed?" I ask.

   "I notice everything about you," he says easily. "So, tell me. What did you see in our possible futures?" His voice is low and liquid, and it reaches inside me and caresses parts I didn't know existed. "What did I do? More importantly, what did you like?"

   Heat floods my face. "What, exactly, are we talking about?"

   "I don't know." His eyes gleam wickedly. "What do you think we're talking about?"

   "Future pathways," I snap. If I have to electro-whip my attention back on track, I'll do it, damn the Fates. "I see everything from me slapping you to…" I trail off, and my cheeks flame even hotter. Oh my. I can't possibly put into words the images flying through my head like a hailstorm.

    "Now I'm really intrigued." He moves his hand to my hair, tugging slightly. I feel the tension all the way to my toes. "Are you really not going to tell me? Because, you know, then I'll have to guess."

   "I'm not going to tell you," I whisper.

    His lips curve in a mischievous grin that makes me want to tuck him in my pocket and keep him forever. And then, while I'm still reeling from his cuteness, he leans in.

   I'm not ready. My mouth is partway open, and I'm in the middle of a breath. He kisses me anyway. I shut my mouth in a hurry. Lips, so soft. His back and shoulders, so hard. Holy Fates, that was his tongue. His tongue, slipping between my teeth. Sparks. So many sparks, igniting in the air around us.

   "How's this?" he whispers against my mouth. "Did you see this in our future?"

   I nod helplessly.

   He moves closer, scooping me up and shifting me on the mattress so that he can lie next to me. Our foreheads touch; so do our knees. "And this? Was this in some of our pathways?"

   I love Pintip's writing and I have read all of her books, so I was very happen when I got to read Girl on the Verge early. Unlike with her other books, this one took me a few pages to really get into the story, but once I did, I couldn't put it down anymore. Personally I love books that can show me something I'm not familiar with, like in this case Thai culture and the struggle you face when trying to balance two cultures within you and figuring out who you want to be.

   When asked for #ownvoice recommendations, this is the story of book I would honestly recommend since the level of discussion and exploration in it is truly amazing and makes it easy to understand how someone like Kanchana must feel. For that alone I'm already very happy that I've gotten to read this book. I'm sure it would be even more valuable for someone who is Thai-American like Kanchana and could thus truly identify with her experience and struggle.

   Speaking of which, I really liked Kanchana, her voice was interesting and she seemed like someone I could genuinely imagine being friends with. Shelly on the other hand was quite...something. You could immediately feel that there was this weird aura around her that definitely made me curious and coaxed me into wanting to continue reading to find out more. Pintip does an amazing job when it comes to characterization.

   The mystery aspect of the story with all the details that were uncovered about Shelly across the story was amazingly orchestrated and well paced. I definitely enjoyed slowly seeing Shelly show her true self and the effects she had on Kanchana's life the more the story progressed.

   All in all Girl on the Verge is an amazing read that I can more than recommend. If you've read any of Pintip's other books you'll definitely enjoy this one, too, at least I did. She has shown how amazing of an author she is in this one once again and I will definitely continue to read anything she decides to write in the future.

   I am obsessed with the Forget Tomorrow Trilogy because both books have so far been absolutely amazing and Pintip is an awesome author, so when I heard that there would be a novella from Logan's POV, I was on that!

   Usually I'm not into novellas or prequels, but this one, I just had to have it and read it. I loved Logan in Forget Tomorrow (review) and so getting to read more about him, from his POV, was really interesting. Throughout Before Tomorrow we follow Logan as he receives his Future Memory and how that changes his thoughts and basically everything for him. We get to know his life a little more, the way he thinks and feels, which was fascinating.

   Unlike the other books in the trilogy, this one was in 3rd person. I'm not a fan of 3rd person at all so that threw me of a little at first, but I managed to look past it enough to still really enjoy the story and see the world I already loved through another set of eyes.

   All in all, I really enjoyed Before Tomorrow a lot. If you're a fan of Pintip and the Forget Tomorrow trilogy, definitely check it out, especially because you can read it for free for a limited time so use the opportunity while you still can!

   I was beyond excited to get my hands on Remember Yesterday because I absolutely loved Forget Tomorrow last year (review here). Luckily I not only received an eARC but was also invited to be part of the blog tour for it, which was just double amazing.

   When it comes to sequels I'm always a bit worried that they might turn out to be nothing more than fillers building up to the finale and nothing more. Remember Yesterday definitely didn't feel like a filler but like a worthy sequel to Forget Tomorrow.

   Unlike the first book, this one is told my Callie's sister, Jessa. At first I wasn't quite sure what I thought of that, but I knew that that was the only option for the sequel to work and happen. Quickly I started to really like Jessa and enjoyed her narration and voice, which sounded definitely different then Callie's in the first book.

   The plot was filled with twists and turns, exciting revelations and lots of moments that amazed me, made me swoon and move to the edge of my seat. It offered a lot of things we didn't have in the previous book, which I can't name of course because spoilers, but if you worry that the plot might somehow repeat itself, there is no need for it. Remember Yesterday is completely different then Forget Tomorrow.
   Also, the ending? Still didn't recover. 

   The love interest in this one was interesting and very different then the one in the previous novel. Tanner was an interesting character with a truly sad backstory which I enjoyed getting to know piece by piece. Though I'll admit I'm really not fond of the name Tanner. Seeing the way he acted toward Jessa change throughout the novel was interesting, especially as certain things were revealed and he understood different moments from his past he didn't understand before.

   I honestly cannot wait to see how the trilogy will end, what will happen with Chairwoman Dresden and if Jessa and the others will be able to figure out how to defeat her. Also, I really enjoyed the look into technologies we heard about in the previous novel but never explored in detail.

   Another thing that stuck out to me was how certain parts from the sequel played into the previous book and tied the plot together even more. Anyone who's read both will know what I'm talking about. It really showed, again, how much thought Pintip put into planning out these books and how much love to detail went into them.

   All in all I think Remember Yesterday is more than a worthy sequel to Forget Tomorrow offering many twists and turns, exciting revelations and swoon worthy moments. I cannot wait to read the final book in the trilogy, though it'll be sad to say goodbye to the characters and the story. Also, I cannot wait to see what the title will be for the third and final book because I've been loving the titles and covers so far! I cannot recommend these two books enough, so if sci-fi is your jam, definitely give them a try. Forget Tomorrow didn't win an award for nothing after all.

3 Year Blogversary Celebration featuring Pintip Dunn (Forget Tomorrow)

   Welcome to the first celebratory post for my 3 year blogversary!

   Today I have the amazing Pintip Dunn here for you guys. As you know I've loved, loved, loved Forget Tomorrow by her last year and cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel, Remember Yesterday, asap. I've also really enjoyed her second book, The Darkest Lie, because let's face it, Pintip is an amazing writer and I'd totally read anything she'll write in the future.    When planning this entire thing I knew I had to ask her if she'd want to participate and, luckily, she said yes so let's check out her As to my Qs below:

   1) What does YA mean to you?
   To me, the YA genre consist of stories about a teenager's journey in discovering his or her true self. I love reading and writing Ya because, often times, that true self is stronger and braver and wiser than the protagonist ever dreamed possible. I suppose these stories represent the best of humanity for me, and they makes me feel hope and joy and despair -- in short, the entire range of emotion.

   2) Since this is a blogversary, is there anything you'd like to say to the blogging community and are there any blogs you like/follow?
   Blogging community,
   I have been blown away by your passion for books and your kindness and generosity of spirit to each other, to authors, and to the characters you read. I feel grateful to be a small part of this community, and THANK YOU for being so awesome.
   Some of my favorite blogs are The Royal Polar Bear Reads, Bibliophile Soprano, and Farah & Laila: Bookworms. And, of course, yours, Alice!

   3) Could you tell us something about yourself and your books?
   Sure! I'm a Harvard and Yale Law grad, former lawyer turned author. I have three kids and live in Maryland, and I am completely obsessed with food, reality tv, and The 100.
   I write YA, in both the science fiction and contemporary thriller/suspense genres. My first book, Forget Tomorrow, is about a future world where memories can be sent back in time. My heroine, seventeen-year-old Callie, sees the unthinkable: her future self killing her sister. Now, on the run from both her future and the government, she must figure out how to protect her sister from the biggest threat of all -- herself.
   My second book, The Darkest Lie, is about a girl whose mom committee suicide after being accused of having sex with a high school boy. Now, amidst the bullying and harassment of her classmates, all CeCe wants is to fly under the radar. But when new boy Sam moves to town and CeCe begins to volunteer at the crisis hotline, she discovers her mother's death is not as straightforward as it appears.
   My next book to be published is Remember Yesterday, book 2 of the Forget Tomorrow series. It comes out October 4 of this year!

   Welcome to today's very exciting post all about a very stunning cover!

   As you guys may or may not remember, last year I read, loved and 5 star reviewed Forget Tomorrow by Pintip Dunn, so when I saw the chance of getting to reveal the cover of the sequel on my blog, I just had to jump at it.    I can tell you guys, I am in love with the cover of Remember Yesterday. I think it's absolutely gorgeous and I so hope I'll get the change of getting my hands on an ARC just like last year because I cannot wait to see where the story is going!
