   I received this book in exchange for an honest review in December. I previously posted my review for this novel on GoodReads but I decided to also include it on my blog. I know, it’s like April now, so I came across that thought quite late. But, better late than never, right?

    I've read Unholy Alliance in a matter of hours because I just couldn't put it down. When I signed up to review it, I thought that it might very well be the typical cheese vampire/human(hunter) story which wouldn't really get me interested. But, it turned out the opposite way. I'm not a big fan of Vampire-stories anymore, but I really enjoyed this read.
    The story is very entertaining and filled with action scenes, which already mark the beginning of the novel. The characters are believable and funny. Their actions are mostly relatable and interesting.
    But the ending is really mean. It leaves you hanging and wanting more, even though I'm not sure if I like the idea that book nr. 2 is centered around Rachel, due to the fact that she wasn't one of my favorite characters. But I might still read it.
I quite enjoyed the 2 POV's. They had distinct voices, which was very nice. Many books fail at creating two good voices but the author did quite a good job in this one.
 

    I give it 4 out of 5 stars and can honestly recommend it to vampire fans or people who want to get out of the reading slump, because it’s a light and enjoyable read.

Hallo meine lieben,

heute habe ich einen neuen TAG für euch! Dieses mal den Happy Bookaholic TAG der eigentlich auf Englisch ist, jedoch habe ich die fragen ins deutsche übersetzt um mal wieder einen Post auf Deutsch zu haben. Ohne groß rumzuquatschen, los geht's! 

1.)   Was liebst du am kaufen von neuen Büchern?

Ich muss zugeben, ich mag es Bücher in form von ebooks oder Kindle zu kaufen jedoch liebe ich das Gefühl ein Buch in meinen Händen zu halten. Ich liebe das Gefühl wenn ich die letzte Seite umblättere und, wenn ich fertig bin, das buch zu zu schlagen. Und, ich liebe den Geruch von alten Büchern. Ist das eigenartig? Oh, und ich mag es extremst ein Buch auf meinem regal stehen zu haben und es einfach dort zu sehen. Sehen wie meine Kollektion immer Größe und größer wird, na das ist genial. Ich meine, in meiner Kindle app sehe ich auch wie die liste an Büchern länger wird, aber das ist einfach nicht das gleiche.

2.)  Wie oft kaufst du neue Bücher?

Naja, wenn es ein buch gibt das ich unbedingt und sofort haben will, dann ist die Chance das ich es sofort kaufen werde recht groß. Meist, wenn ich ins Einkaufszentrum gehe, in dem es auch einen buchladen gibt, mag es schon passieren das ich etwas finde das mir gefällt jedoch versuche ich meine Käufe im Zaum zu halten. Wobei, diesen Monat hab ich schon 3 Bücher gekauft…

3.)  Buchladen oder online?

Ich würde sagen online, was aber einzig und alleine daran liegt das die Buchläden in meiner nähe nur eine grausam winzige Auswahl an englischsprachigen Büchern haben und ich online einfach alle finden kann die ich will.

 4.)  Hast du einen lieblingsbuchladen?

Ich würde sagen Hugendubel auch wenn der in meiner nähe nur so 10 englischsprachige Bücher anbietet. Die meisten davon sind welche die ich entweder schon habe oder die mich nicht interessieren.

 5.)  Vorbestellst du Bücher?

Eher nicht. Ich warte bis sie erscheinen, da ich nicht schon im voraus Geld für die Bücher ausgeben will, da ich das Geld nutzen könnte um ein anderes buch zu kaufen das ich sofort haben kann anstatt Monate darauf zu warten. 

6.)  Hast du ein monatliches „Bücher kauf“-limit?

Nein. 

7.)   Bücher kauf sperren?

Ist nicht wirklich mein ding. Ich schaffe es auch ohne sie mein verlangen danach Bücher zu kaufen mehr oder minder im Zaum zu halten.

8.)  Wie groß ist deine Wunschliste?

In zwei Wörtern - ZU GROß. Die liste an Büchern die ich lesen will auf goodreads ist momentan über 300 Bücher lang - Tendenz steigend - daher hab ich noch ganz schön was vor mir. Wobei momentan hab ich zwei Bücher im Augen die ich unbedingt will (die auch schon Erschienen sind), nämlich: Love Letters to the Dead von Ava Dellaira und Dorothy Must Die von Danielle Paige. Momentane Lieferzeit beider Bücher ist zwischen 2 und 5 Wochen, nicht gerade schön. 

9.)  Welche drei Bücher hast du auf deiner Wunschliste die du sofort haben willst? 

Nummer 1 – The Retribution of Mara Dyer von Michelle Hodkin, das dritte und finale Buch in der “Mara Dyer” Trilogie. Ich liebe diese Trilogie und der zweite teil endete mit einem solchen knall das ich einfach wissen muss wie die Trilogie enden wird. SOFORT! Aber, leider wurde der Termin SCHON WIEDER verschoben, und zwar auf NOVEMBER! Warum!?

Nummer 2 – The Infinite Sea von Rick Yancey, das zweite Buch in der „The 5th Wave“ Trilogie. Ich liebe den ersten teil und ich kann es kaum erwarten bis der zweite teil endlich raus ist, was übrigens am 16. September der fall sein wird.

Und Nummer 3 – City of Heavenly Fire von Cassandra Clare, das letzte Buch in der „Chroniken der Unterwelt“ Serie. Ich brauche es, sofort! (27. Mai)

   Vorher:
   Hm... Interessantes Cover. Interessante Beschreibung. Okay, das lese ich jetzt.

   Nachher:
   Paranoia. Ist da was da hinten in der Dunkelheit? Ist da jemand hinter mir? Was war das eben für ein Geräusch? Warum, warum hab ich diesen Roman nochmal gelesen und warum habe ich geglaubt dass es eine gute Idee ist ihn zu lesen während ich komplett alleine bin? 

   Als ich das erste Mal auf dieses Buch gestoßen bin, durch ein Video auf YouTube, dachte ich mir dass es wohl wahrscheinlich irgendeins dieser Sci-Fi Romane ist, die mich normalerweise eher wenig faszinieren. Jedoch, einige Zeit später entschloss ich mich doch es zu lesen. Ob das nun eine gute Idee war, ist fraglich. 
   Schnell stellte sich heraus das Darlah kein Sci-Fi Roman ist, sondern eher einer dieser Horror Romane der verursacht dass man wochenlang Angst im Dunkeln hat. 

   Die Idee ist recht simple - drei Teenager und 5 professionelle Astronauten fliegen zum Mond und wer weiß schon was dort oben zu machen. Alles sollte insgesamt 15 Tage dauern (4 Tage hin, 7 in der Darlah 2 Basis auf dem Mond, 4 Tage zurück). Wer hätte ahnen können dass daraus ein riesiges Desaster wird? Nun ja, spätestens wenn man weiß das der Autor aus Norwegen kommt, ist einem klar das dies keine angenehme reise wird. Ich meine, wenn schon mal einen Skandinavischen Krimi gesehen hat, weiß das jene Geschichten aus Skandinavien IMMER düster und gespenstisch sind. 
   Ich muss zugeben das ich die ersten ca. 100 Seiten ein bisschen langweilig fand, da die Kapitel darüber wie die drei Teenager dazu kamen sich auch für die Lotterie anzumelden, ein bisschen zu langgezogen fand. Ich fand es auch ein bisschen schwierig die drei zu mögen. Mia, das Mädchen aus Norwegen, ging mir mit ihrer Art anfangs auf die Nerven. Antoine, der Franzose, schien ein Stalker zu sein und Midori, das Mädchen aus Tokio, schien auch nicht wirklich überzeugend zu sein. Im Laufe der Geschichte fing ich dann doch an die drei zu mögen, auch wenn ihre Persönlichkeiten alle extrem eindimensional schienen und manchmal nicht wirklich vorhanden waren. Ich hätte mir gewünscht das Mr. Harstad die Charaktere ein bisschen vertieft und weiterentwickelt.
   Die Ereignisse auf dem Mond und auch die Kapitel über den alten Herrn im Altersheim waren mysteriös und interessant. Überall waren kleine Schnipsel an hinweisen versteckt die zum Ende hin zusammengesetzt wurden und plötzlich ergaben sie alle Sinn. Ich werde natürlich nicht weiter darauf eingehen da ich die Geschichte für niemanden ruinieren will.
   Jedenfalls, von dem Augenblick an als die 8 auf dem Mond landen kommt auf einmal dieses Gefühl auf das etwas nicht stimmt und das einen, je weiter man liest, immer paranoider macht. Die Geschichte scheint einen festzuhalten und einen beinahe mit in sich hinein zu ziehen, so sehr das man selbst zu meinen scheint das sich etwas hinter einem oder in einer dunklen Ecke versteckt.
   Oftmals kreiert Mr. Harstad Situationen in denen ich mir dachte "das war‘s jetzt, es gibt keinen Ausweg mehr" und doch schaffte er es jedes Mal mich zu überraschen. Die ganzen Geschichten über die Mond Missionen und so weiter sind sehr interessant und manche Dinge werden auch anhand von Bildern illustriert die einem helfen sich, z.B., DARLAH 2 besser vorzustellen oder einem zeigen wo auf dem Mond genau die "Sea of Tranquility" ist. Interessant ist es das was auch immer auf dem Mond passiert, das ich euch natürlich nicht verraten werde, auf eine clevere Art und weiß an ein reales Geschehnisse geknüpft wurde, was das ganzen umso mehr angsteinflößend machte. 

   Alles in allem hat mir Darlah sehr gut gefallen, auch wenn es einige Dinge gibt die raum zur Verbesserung lassen. Wobei vielleicht liegt darin auch der Scharm der ganzen Sache? Ich empfehle euch Darlah wärmstens aber gleichzeitig warne ich euch, dass es kein Buch für schwache Nerven ist. Nein, es gibt kein blutiges Gemetzel, das braucht es auch nicht, das was passiert ist schon grausam genug, glaubt mir.

Final DIVERGENT Trailer

   Listen up Initiates,
   Today, on BuzzFeed, we've been presented with the new and final trailer for DIVERGENT. I've watched it a couple of minutes ago and well... I don't like it.

   Where do I start this... Okay, let’s start with the actors.
    No, no and no. Shailene Woodley as Tris, somehow for me that doesn't work. Not at all. Shailene seems much too thin and fragile as to play a kickass character like Tris. Sure, in the book it also is mentioned that she isn't the toughest looking person but seriously? Her arms are about the size of my wrists. But, it's not like I have something against her per se, I really think she fits the role of Hazel Grace in The Fault in Our Stars exactly because she is this sweet and fragile person.

   Also, from what we get to see in this trailer, I just don't think her acting is on the level that I wish the actress who plays Tris would have. I must say, I started to laugh, really laugh, during the split second in which we see her hitting something like a boxing bag. That just looked ridiculous. But hey, that is just my opinion.

   Theo James. I mean, whom are the producers trying to sell the idea that he is 18? Just no. He looks like the age he is, meaning 29 and not 18. Also, from what we see in the trailer, I'm not fond of his acting or him. All I see is him looking like a tough guy and that’s it. Also I somehow don't hear the emotions in his voice that I was looking for in certain sentences that he said during the trailer. I've never seen a movie with him in it, which means that I have no idea how well of an actor he really is or isn't, I'm just basing my opinion on what I see in the trailer.

   Okay, let’s leave the actors alone and talk about the trailer itself. I do like the way they portrayed Chicago and the building from which Tris has to jump, but that’s about it. Something that just made me straight out "angry" was that the trailer almost tells you everything that will happen in the movie. It barely leaves anything out and thus spoils a few things which are more fun to get to know while watching the actual movie then going and while already knowing it. Okay, I'd say that point only works for those who have not read the books but anyways.

   I don't know, so far from just watching the trailers and snippets I can only say that I'm not really looking forward to the movie. I don't think it will be nearly as amazing as the book was. I also know that a lot of people have lost their interest in the series due to the more then disappointing ending for the trilogy that author Veronica Roth has presented us. I personally, I really didn't like the last book. Somewhere halfway through I started to simply force myself to continue reading. And the ending, specifically the last 30-40 pages were just over the top bad. I know she tried to make you feel certain emotions, to feel sadness just like the character but all I felt was "what is this book finally ending?". 
   I love the first book, it had so many great things in it that it certainly belongs to the group of my all-time favorites but unfortunately 2 and 3 did not quite fulfill my hopes. 

   Anyways, I know I will watch the movie but I can say that my level of expectations is quite very low.

   One more thing before I end this post, have a look at the following picture:

   Excuse me but what are these supposed to be? Water guns? Toys? I mean sure it's the future but that is just ridiculous. Okay, maybe these have like some special meaning to them which I forgot but I just find them straight of hilarious. Especially together with the facial expressions. 

   Okay, enough of my ranting. 

   What do you guys think about the trailer(s) and the actors? Are you happy with the choices that the producers have made?

The Fault in Our Stars Trailer!

   Ladies and gentleman, dear fellow nerdfighters,

   I present to you... The "The Fault in Our Stars" trailer in beautiful HD! I must warn you: prepare for the feels.

   I love the book, even though it ripped my heart out and my mom declared me crazy for reading a book that made me cry as much as it did. I've been waiting all day for the trailer, refreshing Facebook, Instagram and YouTube countless times till the time finally came. 

   When I first heard about the movie I was full of happiness yet I had doubts as to how good they will adapt the book into a movie. After I got to know who would play Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters, the same actors who play Tris and her brother Caleb in Divergent, I had doubts. I don't know anything about their acting or how good they are. 

   Now, my doubts are gone. 

   The trailer is beautiful and made tears fill my eyes, which doesn't happen often. Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort look great together and it seems like they have a perfect chemistry between each other. From what we get to see in the trailer, they simply seem like the perfect Hazel Grace and Augustus. Surprisingly enough, even my mother said so, even though she doesn't know the book or anything.

   Although I'm very happy that we got the see the trailer sooner, I'm sad that the trailer was leaked. It's not right and shouldn't happen. It's not fair towards the people who made it and also unfair towards John Green, the wonderful author of "The Fault in Our Stars".

   Anyways, after seeing the trailer I have three things on my mind: 

   1.) I want to see the movie so bad and I really don't want to wait till June. 
   2.) I want to read the book again and 
   3.) watch the trailer a few more times.

   After this long break of not posting anything, I'm happy that I could return to you guys due to this wonderful trailer. I'm hoping to post more regularly again, but unfortunately I cannot promise you anything. I'm curious what you guys think of the trailer. Let me know in the comment or on my Facebook page.
