   The Reason:

   To start of the Christmas reads edition of Cover Lust Friday I'm here to talk about the cover of Let It Snow.
   Quite obviously this isn't the original cover, or a cover that belongs to an english edition of Let It Snow. This is the Polish cover for Let It Snow, the one I have on my shelf, and I absolutely love this cover. It fits perfectly into stories set around christmas and winter. I love how the cover looks like it's been painted with water colors and is held in blues and pinks, simply perfect. You can really see that someone sat down and really thought about the cover and put in a lot of work to make it look like that.
   All in all, bravo Polish publisher, great job, don't you think?

Review: The Fault in Our Stars (Movie, 2014)

   The Fault in Our Stars, a story so beautifully told it's hard to believe. As a lover of dramas and books/movies that will challenge you to break out in tears, I have never watched a movie that made me cry uncontrollably just this much. Sure, I cried while watching Marley and Me, a story centered around a dog, but this is a whole different league of cry worthy movie.
   The story is centered around these two oh so lovable characters, Hazel Grace and Augustus, who are both kids with cancer, though Augustus has been in remission for quite a while. Seeing the two of them fall in love "slowly and then all at once" is beautiful. Their relationship seems so pure and real, though sure it's one of those, kind of, "insta-love" things but this one seems believable.
   Something that makes this movie stand out is, for example, the fact that while being pretty and all, Shainlene Woodley portrays maybe the only female movie character which has cannulas in her nose throughout the entire movie, simply because she wouldn't be able to breathe 'normally' without them. I've seen a lot of movie, yet in none of them something like this was a thing.
   The movie may start of slow and subtle but that only adds to the whole "making the audience fall for the characters"-factum even more prominent. This isn't one of those action packed love stories where people scream around and create problems so dumb you just want to facepalm throughout the whole thing. No, The Fault in

Our Stars is quite the contrary. It shows the struggles but also the love that young adults can share, especially when it might very well be the only love they might share before dying way before they should.
   Another incredible thing is how true to the book this movie is, not only in terms of the plot but also the dialogues. Many loved quotes from the book are features and delivered amazingly by the actors. No matter how you twist and turn it all around, The Fault in Our Stars is a memorable and witty movie starring cancer kids, but on solemnly focused on the cancer part like some other movies or books might be.

   When it comes to the acting, I am lost for words. When I first heard that The Fault in Our Stars will be made into a movie, I feared that the actors and screenplay writers won't be able to do the characters, which were so beautifully crafted by author John Green, justice. But, luckily, I was surprised in all the right ways.
   As you guys know, I really didn't like Shainlene Woodley in the role of Tris in DIVERGENT but her acting and portrayal of Hazel Grace in The Fault in Our Stars was outstandingly amazing. Through the way she acted and said certain lines you could really feel all the feels clearly. In certain scenes she would make you fall in love with her and in other ones she would make your heart shatter into a million pieces.
   And the same also goes for Ansel Elgort as Augustus Waters. After seeing him play Augustus, I feel confidante enough to say that I cannot imagine any other actor being able to play him as charmingly as Ansel did. Though his wits and charming smirks/smiles he will cast a spell on you.
   Willem Dafoe as Peter Van Houten, the author of Hazel Grace's and Augustus beloved Novel "An Imperial Affliction", will make you hate him most of the time just as much as he did in the novel. I imagined a lot of people playing Van Houten, but I'm happy with Willem Dafoe playing him. He did a great job in playing this character which has a weird love for Swedish Hip Hop.

   All in all I can say that this is my movie of Summer 2014. I won't go as far as saying that it's my movie of the year, because I'm still waiting for Mockingjay: Part 1, which hits theaters in November, before I will make my decision. I can see why people might say that The Fault in Our Stars is only another melodramatic movie for girls, or something along those lines. Just today the moderator, of the radio station I sometimes listen to, was criticizing TFiOS but personally, I cannot and will not agree.

   I love the book and I love the movie, though many believe I'm crazy for loving something so sad so much, but the thing they do not understand is that it is not sad, well it is, but it is mainly beautiful, touching and outstandingly great. Call me insane, but this is the type of story I might very well enjoy most because it makes me feel something deep inside of me. It is not just another story which drowns in the sea of story out there; it's one that will stay with you for a long time.
   The music features in TFiOS is also on top of the game. It has songs by Ed Sheeran, Grouplove and Charli XCX. The songs fit perfectly and reflect the movie with the atmosphere they create.

   I recommend this movie to, well, everybody. This movie is worth seeing in all the right ways. It will make you cry but it also will make you happy all at the same time. No matter if you watch it alone, with friends or with your s/o. But remember, keep Kleenex nearby, you'll need it.

   I give The Fault in Our Stars 5 out of 5 Stars.

The Fault in Our Stars Trailer!

   Ladies and gentleman, dear fellow nerdfighters,

   I present to you... The "The Fault in Our Stars" trailer in beautiful HD! I must warn you: prepare for the feels.

   I love the book, even though it ripped my heart out and my mom declared me crazy for reading a book that made me cry as much as it did. I've been waiting all day for the trailer, refreshing Facebook, Instagram and YouTube countless times till the time finally came. 

   When I first heard about the movie I was full of happiness yet I had doubts as to how good they will adapt the book into a movie. After I got to know who would play Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters, the same actors who play Tris and her brother Caleb in Divergent, I had doubts. I don't know anything about their acting or how good they are. 

   Now, my doubts are gone. 

   The trailer is beautiful and made tears fill my eyes, which doesn't happen often. Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort look great together and it seems like they have a perfect chemistry between each other. From what we get to see in the trailer, they simply seem like the perfect Hazel Grace and Augustus. Surprisingly enough, even my mother said so, even though she doesn't know the book or anything.

   Although I'm very happy that we got the see the trailer sooner, I'm sad that the trailer was leaked. It's not right and shouldn't happen. It's not fair towards the people who made it and also unfair towards John Green, the wonderful author of "The Fault in Our Stars".

   Anyways, after seeing the trailer I have three things on my mind: 

   1.) I want to see the movie so bad and I really don't want to wait till June. 
   2.) I want to read the book again and 
   3.) watch the trailer a few more times.

   After this long break of not posting anything, I'm happy that I could return to you guys due to this wonderful trailer. I'm hoping to post more regularly again, but unfortunately I cannot promise you anything. I'm curious what you guys think of the trailer. Let me know in the comment or on my Facebook page.

    Verdammt, wo soll ich nur anfangen? Vielleicht mit etwas leichterem, also nicht dem Buch selbst sondern dem Titel und dem Cover. Ganz ehrlich, ich hasse den deutschen Titel, der Englische ist viel schöner und passt meiner Meinung nach viel besser zu diesem Meisterwerk. Erstrecht, da der englische Titel aus dem Werk „Julius Caesar“ von Shakespeare stammt, dies gibt dem ganzen einen schönen lyrischen touch, wohingegen der deutsche Titel verursacht, dass man denkt, das dies nur ein weiteres Teenie buch ist, und nicht das grandiose und emotionale Meisterwerk das es eigentlich ist.
   Genauso, wie ich den englischen Titel bevorzuge, bevorzuge ich auch das englische Cover. Ich mag den blauen Hintergrund und die sich darauf befindenden zwei Wolken, eine weiß und eine schwarz. Man könnte das Cover zum Beispiel so interpretieren:
   Man könnte sagen, dass das Cover und die Farben die dafür verwendet wurden, so etwas wie Notizen sind die für verschiedene Phasen des Lebens stehen, was ich damit meine ist das die Farbe Blau, die für den Hintergrund benutzt wurde, für Hoffnung stehen könnte, Hoffnung auf ein weiteres/längeres Leben, auf Gesundheit und noch etwas Zeit zu haben. Die schwarze Farbe, die für die Wolke benutzt wurde auf der sich der Titel befindet, könnte für all die negativen Dinge stehen, wie z.B. Trauer. Und zu guter Letzt weiß, eine neutrale Farbe die für das normale Leben steht, ein Leben wie normale gesunde Menschen. Man könnte damit also sagen dass wer auch immer das Cover designt hat, hat sich das Buch in diesen drei Farben vorgestellt, eine sehr artistische Art und weiße dieses Buch zusammenzufassen.
   Ich finde das Cover harmoniert sehr schön miteinander und sie Schrift ist schön und anders, es hat so einen ‚Kreide auf Tafel‘-Look der mir sehr gefällt. Das Cover spricht mich persönlich einfach viel mehr an als das Cover der deutschen Übersetzung, aber das ist natürlich ausschließlich meine Meinung.

   Nun ja, kommen wir nun zu dem Buch selbst. Was soll ich sagen, ich HASSE dieses Buch.
     Ich hasse es weil es mich so oft zum Lachen gebracht hat.
     Ich hasse es weil ich so oft lächeln und schmunzeln musste.
     Und am meisten hasse ich es weil es mich so berührt hat und mich so sehr zum Weinen gebracht hat.

   Bevor ich das Buch überhaupt gekauft hatte, hatte ich eine Menge davon gehört und das Cover und/oder den Titel schon des Öfteren gesehen und gehört. Beim letzten ‚durch den Buchladen stöbern‘ habe ich es dann in der Abteilung mit den englischen Büchern wieder gesehen. Ich fasste mich ans Herz und kaufte es. Einen Tag lang lag es auf meinem Schreibtisch, ganz allein und einsam doch dann fing ich mitten in der Nacht an es zu lesen. Obwohl es schon so spät war konnte ich einfach nicht aufhören es zu lesen, ungefähr 100 Seiten später um ca. 5 Uhr morgens habe ich mich Wort wörtlich dazu gezwungen es bei Seite zu legen und schlafen zu gehen. Im Laufe des nächsten Tages habe ich es dann zu Ende gelesen, während meine Mutter mich des Öfteren fragte warum ich weine und warum ich mir so was antue und so ein trauriges Buch über krebskranke Jugendliche lese. Die Antwort darauf ist sehr einfach:

   Ich konnte nicht aufhören das Buch zu lesen weil es einfach so schön war zu lesen das ein Mädchen das einen unheilbaren krebs hat und jederzeit mit Sauerstoff versorgt werden muss, dennoch ein schönes Leben führt und sogar einen Jungen kennenlernt und die wahre liebe findet, auch wenn sie unheilbar krank ist. Das Buch hat mich gelehrt das das Leben nicht zu Ende sein muss nur weil man krebs hat, man kann damit leben, soweit es möglich ist, und dennoch ein normales und schönes Leben führen.
 

   Die Charaktere waren grandios, stark, witzig und voller Lebensfreude. Die Geschichte ist sowohl wunderschön als auch grausam, traurig und zu Tränen rührend. Die Art und Weise wie der verehrte Herr John Green schreibt ist wundervoll, intelligent, voller Humor und toller Fakten und Konzepte. Man könnte fast meinen John Green dachte sich eines Tages ganz einfach „Hey, ich bin John Green und ich werde das BESTE buch ever schreiben!“ und dann setzte er sich hin und tat genau das, er schriebe ein Meisterwerk.
 

   Ich kann euch eins sagen, ich empfehle euch, legt alle Bücher nieder die ihr momentan lest, geht euch dieses Buch kaufen und lest es. Ich warne euch, erst werdet ihr es lieben und lachen aber dann werdet ihr in Tränen schwimmen, doch zum Ende hin werdet ihr nicht weinen weil es so traurig ist, nein, ihr werdet weinen weil es einfach so rührend ist. Dies ist ein Buch das man nicht so schnell vergisst.
